Last weekend, 20-22 November, the Churches Together Alpha Team held their weekend away at Cefn Lea Christian Conference Centre in Mid Wales, for the Autumn courses that are currently running .

The primary objective of the Weekend was for the seven groups currently doing Alpha to have a relaxed, fun weekend together whilst looking at the work and person of the Holy Spirit which forms an integral part of the Course.

The group from our Church being led by Bev Rippon was represented along with the other Chepstow & District groups and we were also joined by groups from Caldicot, Newtown, Dudley & Lichfield making a total number of around 90 people attending.
 
Unfortunately the weather was somewhat inclement over the Weekend making it difficult to fully enjoy and appreciate the wonderful surroundings of Mid Wales.

However the sun was definitely shining inside the Cefn Lea complex and there was an amazing sense of God's Blessing on our party over the Weekend which included a brilliant time of sharing time together.

The entertainment session on the Saturday evening was great fun with M.C. Steve (Methodist minister from Dudley - a bit of a Tommy Cooper himself), introducing some virtuoso performances, including an updated version of "Cinderella" in "full make up" & "lightning speed animation" , the "Flicking Channels" sketch and "Max Boyce Returns to Cefn Lea," all featuring cast from our Church.
